A study of the process of hot deformation of magnesium

Magnesium alloy AZ31 is studied after testing in a temperature range of 350–450°C in two modes of loading, i.e., compression at a rate of 0.1–10 sec −1 and hot rolling with deformation of degree 20–50% at a rate of 0.214 m/sec. The effect of the deformation parameters on the grain size and on the hardness of the alloy is determined.
